Vic & Lisa: A Backyard Wedding (Mid Michigan Wedding Photographer)

July 15, 2025

One of the greatest compliments you can give a photographer is your trust. When Lisa reached out and shared that she had followed my work through a family friend over the years, she told me that when it came time for her and her longtime love, Vic, to finally make it official, she knew she wanted me there to capture it. I was beyond honored to be chosen, and it was such a joy to be part of their day.

Lisa and Vic’s wedding was filled with intention and heart. They chose their date—a Tuesday this year—so it could eclipse a difficult memory in Lisa’s life. Instead of being a reminder of loss, that day is now marked by joy, love, and celebration. Watching Vic tear up as Lisa came down the hill toward him was such a moving moment. His emotion was so genuine, and it was clear he was right where he wanted to be all day long.

The ceremony took place in the bright sunshine of their backyard, a setting that felt so personal and meaningful. Even though not everyone could be there in person, Vic’s sister joined in from New York on FaceTime—almost the entire day!—so she could celebrate alongside them from afar. Afterwards, they hosted a reception for family and friends at the Eagles Club building just down the road.

Even though the summer heat and a few air conditioning hiccups made things a little toasty, the celebration was filled with laughter, connection, and so much love. It may have been on a Tuesday, but nothing about it felt “small.” The day carried big feelings in every way.

Lisa and Vic, thank you so much for trusting me to capture your wedding day. I had such a wonderful time with you and your family, and I wish you both a lifetime of love, joy, and happiness together!

They've come a long way, haven't they?

Rick & Terri: Married! (Mid Michigan Wedding Photographer)

June 14, 2025

The first wedding of 2025 is officially in the books! And what a heartfelt, joyful way to kick off the season—with plenty of familiar faces and even a few furry ones.

Terri is someone I’ve known since grade school (she’s one of my classmate’s moms!), and I’ve had the honor of photographing her family over the years. When she reached out about her wedding, I was so excited to be part of such a meaningful day.

Back toward the end of last year, Rick was in a terrible accident. Since then, it’s been a long road to recovery—one filled with challenges, but also with unwavering love and support from Terri and their loyal pup, Cowboy. (Cowboy, by the way, made sure to make his presence known on the wedding day and definitely soaked up every pet and cuddle he could get.)

Though the day wasn’t without its difficulties for Rick, he was a total trooper and pushed through with such grace. And more importantly, it was clear just how happy he was to be officially marrying Terri, surrounded by the people—and pets—who mean the most to them.

Their reception was a laid-back celebration filled with delicious food, laughter, and heartfelt moments shared with close family and friends. Oh, and I can’t forget to mention the adorable rubber ducky cake, topped with tiny bride and groom ducks—such a sweet and quirky touch that felt so them.

I’m so happy for these two and can’t wait to share more from their beautiful day. Here’s to a future filled with healing, love, and all the good things they so deeply deserve.
