Jared: Class of 2019 (Mid Michigan Senior Photographer)

November 6, 2018

It's been a bit since I've had a guy for senior portraits but I'm super glad it was Jared! I know his family from a ways back, and I haven't seen Jared himself for at least five years, but he's certainly grown up and I had a great time capturing his portraits. He was totally rocking the brooding, serious look, and so you'll see a lot of those in this post.

Jared is very musically talented. He plays drums, guitar AND trombone, all of which he represented in his photos. Though the day was extremely rainy, we made the most of our studio time and I couldn't be happier with how his images turned out. Let me know when you are ready to create that album cover, Jared!

^Serious artist.

^Album cover option #1.

^I wasn't sure how we could make a trombone look smooth, but we pulled it off!

^Album cover option #2.

^TWO album cover options! #3 and #4 (LOVE these!)

Wes & Rhonda: A Bright and Bold Fall Wedding (West Michigan Wedding Photographer)

October 13, 2018

The last wedding of the year is always a bit bittersweet. On one hand, I'm tired from a long summer and wedding season does take a lot out of a person, but on the other, no more weddings for the year is always sad as well. Regardless, I always look forward to the last wedding of the year. It tends to be especially memorable. This year was no exception. I had the pleasure of working with Wes and Rhonda, one of the most genuine and happy couples I've worked with. The day was chilly but full of so many huge smiles, fun, and love, and it was truly a great experience.

I met the two of them last Christmas when they were in town from Colorado to visit family and have their engagement session done. Rhonda is one of my detail oriented brides, who I always mesh well with, and after meeting the two of them, I knew the wedding was going to be a good one, though I had no idea how much fun it would be.

The event took place at the beautiful Bay Pointe Inn on Gun Lake and as usual, the setting was gorgeous. Their flowers were so colorful and exciting, thanks to Eastern Floral, and we had so much time for photos, which is always a plus and I loved every minute of it. There were a lot of unique things that Wes and Rhonda incorporated into their wedding day, such as a beer mixing unity ceremony, having both men and women on either side of the bridal party, and a bagpipe player!

It was my longest wedding of the year, as well, but it was fun to stay and hang out with everyone while they danced. I joined in, of course! Thank you so much, Wes and Rhonda, for choosing me to be a part of your wedding. I'm so glad to have been a part of it!
