Bill & Alicia: Beautiful Barn Wedding (Lansing Wedding Photographer)

July 12, 2014

I'm not sure what to blame the length of this post on. It's either the extra shooter (thanks Kate and Carrie!) or the fact that I just loved all the amazing, fun, sweet, etc, details that went into this awesome barn wedding. Alicia and Bill had an amazing wedding day and I was so happy to be a part of it and get to capture all the amazingness.

Though I was a little worried with a few extra locations before the wedding (we got ready at the hotel and stopped by the Lansing Capitol building for the first look), it was a perfect timeline. And even though we got a little bit of rain, we found ourselves under some nice shade trees that kept us dry until the spitting stopped. These two were so excited throughout their day, and it was such a pleasure to work with such a great bridal party. The barn was a little bit hot for the reception, but the food was great and the party was fun.

I've known these guys for a long time. Alicia is one of my 'Best Fan' club and Bill and I were friends in high school too. His family and I have run into each other lots in the past years and it was sincerely a pleasure to be a part of this special day for so many reasons. What a day! I can't say anything more, just LOOK at it all and enjoy :)

Taylor & Laura: Engaged! (West Michigan Wedding Photographer)

July 17, 2014

Grand Haven holds a little something special for these two. Not only is it a gorgeous place, but about a year ago, Taylor took out a ring during the Coast Guard Festival fireworks and proposed to Laura. So the gorgeous backdrop of Lake Michigan and the beach seemed fitting for the first part of their session. What a perfect day too. GH is almost always windy when I find myself there, but this time, it was calm and perfect (especially for us girls' hair ;) and the temperature was great too. The bright sun made it a little tricky but we did our best!

We also stopped at one of my favorite spots, the barn on Fillmore toward the GVSU campus. Taylor's family has used the place lots of time for family photos in the past and I'm a fan of the area too, so that worked out well. A little more shade there was nice too ;)

These two are getting married in less than two months, so you'll see them again soon, at the beginning of September. Congrats, Laura and Taylor!

^Ahhh, the beach :)

^No pelican... ;) (inside joke)

^So cute.

^These two are a good looking pair!

^A very pretty ring!

^A few laughs for the end of our session.
