Josh & Jami: Married in the Woods (Northern Michigan Wedding Photographer)

August 20, 2016

There aren't a lot of weddings that I do like this. But when they do come along, I am always happy to be a part of them. Josh and Jami wanted their wedding at this chapel WAYYYY back in the woods that they came across on one of their outdoorsy adventures. I'm not kidding when I say it was WAY back in the woods. Such a small but adorable little place. The weather was wet but I think everything went perfectly. There were just a handful of guests and we filled the chapel up, but seriously. Perfect.

I think one of the best parts of the wedding was watching Josh. I had only just met him that day, but I could tell he was over the moon to be marrying Jami. He was beaming, especially when he finally got to see her in her dress, walking down the short but sweet aisle toward him. Photos below ;) Being a part of someone's happiness like this is so amazing.

Josh and Jami had rented a cabin just outside of Grayling in the woods as well, and spent their mini honeymoon there. They didn't have any sort of reception the day they got married, just dinner and conversation with their close family and friends, but I couldn't picture this wedding any better than it was.

AND Jami suggested we do their portraits in the river so... You can image how much fun I had with that! Enjoy!

^A gorgeous bouquet, it added so much color to the dreary weather!

^LOVE Jami's dress.

^It took forever going through Mason Tract to get to the chapel. Worth the ride (and walk!)

^So excited to see his bride!

^A barefoot bride is always a great bride.

^Buried this bottle of bourbon and it's all still there... apparently that means good luck for the marriage :)

^These fine young men helped this pregnant lady up the hill to get these shots. Thanks guys.

^Yup, not sorry that I brought my off-camera flash equipment.

^Can't decide which I like better!

^Wet weather and cloudy skies isn't the best for a wedding but it sure makes for gorgeous lighting!

^It's love.

^Carpe diem, indeed!

^A fave, I'd have to say!

^This little series is adorable and really sums up their day and love with each other.

^Perfect.

^This big fellow wasn't sure why we left for so long but he was glad when got back!

^Happy family!

^Beautiful alone. So happy together.
