Ryan & Kristin: A Country Wedding (Northern Michigan Wedding Photographer)

June 1, 2019

Kicking off a fast and furious wedding season, we have a wedding I've been looking forward to for almost a whole year! My designer friend, Kristin, who second shoots with me on occasion too, got engaged to Ryan after a happy couple of years together. They met when they were both part of a corn hole league and have been smitten ever since. He dotes on her and they were both so thrilled to be tying the knot in up north country fashion at the beginning of June.

Their engagement session took place on Kristin's family's farm here in West Michigan, so they chose to do the wedding up north in Le Roy, where he and his family are from.

As those of you in Michigan may have noticed, this year has been a bit cool and wet. I was a little worried on my way to Le Roy to start photographing Ryan and Kristin's wedding. I almost had to stop the car and pull over, the rain and wind was whipping around so much. But I made it and by the time we were ready to start photos, the rain stopped! Though the day was cloudy and a touch cool, it ended up being perfect. The attire was casual and comfortable, and they were surrounded by family, friends and their dog, Hank, when they made it official.

We did a few things new for me at this wedding, including a tractor ride with the wedding party. And I rented a fisheye lens for a few more interesting angles while shooting. I may have over done it a bit but hey, it was fun ;)

Congrats to the both of you, Ryan and Kristin. I wish you both lots of love and happiness throughout the future. I can't wait to work on your album!!!
