Nadine (Grand Rapids Boudoir Photographer)

April 19, 2013

Nadine was nervous to do her boudoir session. A lot of women are. It's kind of crazy to get your photo taken in clothes you usually reserve for your safe place at home, where there AREN'T cameras. But just as most people do when I work with them, she TOTALLY rocked it. She had some awesome expressions, and totally had the 'sassy face' down pat! It was a blast working with her, and just as I suspected, her photos came out beautiful. I think her husband definitely appreciated his birthday gift this year!

^Hubby's jersey is always a good option for an outfit!

^Rocking a coy smile.

^One of my favorites!

^She said she didn't know what she was doing at first. Quick learner, no?

^Not sure why but I love this outfit.

^Another favorite!

^Gorgeous lady!

Isaiah: Newborn (Grand Rapids Childrens Photographer)

April 16, 2013

This adorable little guy came to see me barely a week after he was born. Though Isaiah seemed happy enough to come visit me, sleeping was not on his agenda. With a little help from his mom, dad, and grandma, we were able to talk him into a few shots. Luckily for me, him being a cutie and his mini catnap let me get enough adorable shots of him! Also, it was nice to catch up with his dad, Marcus, who went to high school with me! It's so great to see friends from back then bringing their family additions. AND I'll be shooting his and Samantha's wedding in September, so Isaiah will be back! Congrats to the Carlstroms on their on your brand new family!

^Little guy looks cozy!

^Hanging out on Dad's Marine blues.

^Trying so hard not to go to sleep while Grandma holds him.

^It's like Grandma's done this before or something ;)

^One sweet little smile!

Washington D.C.: Day Three

April 14, 2013

Our third day was dedicated to checking out a few sights and the museums as part of the Smithsonian. As you can imagine, these places are huge and for that reason, we didn't get to see them all. But we picked a few "must-dos" and hit those. We went to the the National Portrait Museum (where I got to see actual Alexander Gardner and Matthew Brady Civil War photography!), Air & Space Museum, the Museum of Natural History, and the Museum of American History. Lots of cool exhibits. We also stopped at the National Archives and saw the Declaration of Independence and the original Constitution (no photos, though, sorry!). I didn't take photos of too many of the things we saw inside the museums, but here was our last full day in DC!

^The DC Public Library.

^Friendship Arch in China Town.

^Admiring the architecture and dreaming I had a nice bride and groom standing there... :)

^Lunch at Dim Sum with a friend from back home.

^Mmmmm, dinner!!! And dessert ;)

^Pretty flag on the way back to the hotel after seeing an awesome Shakespeare play thanks to another friend.
