Sarah: Class of 2019 (West Michigan Senior Portrait Photographer)

August 30, 2018

Grand Haven's beach is a beautiful place. That is where Sarah wanted her senior portraits done, being that she's lived there all her life. We had a gorgeous sunny day without too much wind to work with, so it was pretty nice to relax in the sun. A touch too bright for my taste but honestly, it was so nice to walk the beach in that sunshine! I met Sarah and her parents on the beach and we basically walked from one end to the other, ending up at the beautiful pier to finish up. It was great meeting this senior and her parents and I wish her there very best throughout her last year of school!

^Beach grass. Classic!

^A gust of wind just when we need it!

^Heading to the pier.

^Love!

^Backlit beauty.

^I do miss the catwalk but we couldn't have gotten this shot with it!

Mike & Sarah: A Beach Wedding (Northern Michigan Wedding Photographer)

August 10, 2018

Frankfort is a place I've been to a few times in recent years. Its cute and quaint; the perfect Northern Michigan town. I won't lie, I was excited about this wedding from the very start of the season. When Sarah first contacted me, she also sent me a few photos from the reception venue, the Elberta Life Saving Station. It's not your typical reception venue but of course that's why I loved it! But more on that in a bit.

The big day was perfect for a beach wedding. The sun was shining and it was pretty warm, but what else could you want for a day on the beach? Sarah's details and decorations were perfect for the beach theme. And everything went perfectly! Mike and Sarah said their vows after Sarah was escorted down the aisle by her dad and son, Kayden. A sand ceremony seemed very fitting for the setting, and then they were married!

We did beach photos but we saved a great deal of portraits for sunset. And what a sunset we got that night! After dinner and some dancing, we were able to sneak off with Mike and Sarah and get a few more shots together. The three of us even went a little off the grid in this awesome spot behind the reception venue. But shhhhh, it's a secret!

Finished up with some OCF shots on the dance floor. Props to my second, Mandy, for some of the best of those! Worth every second of that 2+ hour drive ;)
