Rachael & Andy's Engagement Photos

May 8, 2009

When Rachael suggested we do her engagement photos at Fredrick Meijer Gardens, my first thought was "Why hadn't I thought of that?" The Gardens is one of the most beautiful places I've found since I've moved to the Grand Rapids area a mere six years ago (well almost, that'll be official in August!). I've photographed there several times and I was more than happy to show up and do so again!

Rachael and Andy and I met last year when they hired me to do their wedding this coming September. A wonderfully fun and easy to get along with pair, the two of them and I had a fun time wandering around the Gardens, finding good scenery and backgrounds to use for their engagement shots (and trust me, that wasn't tricky!) After the CF card was full, we had a huge array of shots with flowers and plants to statues and waterfalls,  you know, the usual stuff!

I of course want to apologize to Rachael and Andy for their photos taking so long to be posted. A little run in with the sharp edge of a door and my pinky toe and the fact that JRPhoto is moving this weekend slowed me up a bit, but we finally got it done! Here's a preview of Rachael and Andy, be sure to look for more of these two in September.

Changes are coming!

To keep up with some of the changes in the wedding photography industry (and the "make your own package" trend with JRPhoto this year! :), I'm going to be updating the packages available to future brides and grooms. More packages will include high resolution digital discs with copyright, and many will come with engagement or trash the dresses photo sessions. The biggest change, however, will be the "print credit" option, where you get a certain dollar amount of credit toward prints that you may use to get any size you'd like.

If you've been taking a look at prices this year and you saw a package you like, no worries, you can still get this year's packages at this years prices. Thanks for checking out what's new at Jenna Rose Photography, and please let me know if you have ANY questions, I'm glad to help.

Jessica & Ryan's Engagement Photos

May 1, 2009

Ryan and Jessica made a LONG trip for their photos, coming to West Michigan all the way from the east side of the state. Even though the day was chilly and we didn't make it out to Grand Haven to the beach as planned, we had a long and successful photo shoot in downtown Grand Rapids (with a much needed stop by Biggby Coffee!). We hit as many locations downtown as we could and turned out quite a large portfolio of images for my first engagement shoot of the season.
These two will be getting married in August and I'll be there, so you can expect more of them in the near future. AND we are still planning a beach shoot sometime in June, so obviously these two are going to be quite popular!

Saunders/VanderMeulen Family Photos

April 26, 2009

It was supposed to be a nice weekend, but the forecasters got it way off. My family and I spent the day of my sister's graduation from GVSU under an umbrella! And Sunday wasn't looking much better. After canceling our planned outing to Wedgewood Park in Grandville, I headed out to Deb and Rick's house to shoot some family photos since it was the first time the whole family was in the same place in quite some time. But low and behold, the sun decided to show it's face at the perfect time, right as we were read to start.

Although the weather wasn't the best, we had a good time. And I definitely have to say, the Saunders and VanderMeulen clan were ready for photos. It was smooth sailing from beginning to end, even with little Caiden trying to plant his dirty hands (he found the flower pot on the deck) right on his mom's nice white shirt!
