Backyard Prettiness: Part Four, Five & Six

June 9, 2015

The summer flowers have started to appear. We've got a few more to see but I love that the roses and all of Mike's allium have come out. I got some pretty water on the roses after the decision to shoot on a very dewy morning. Bonus! Throughout the time period of this post, we are also getting more and more lilies (with the day lilies getting ready to show up) as well as buds on the flox, and the hydrangea. Now we are just waiting on those gladiolas!

^The white peonies have finally started to open!

^Stargazer lilies are getting ready.

^Assortment of allium.

^Cat mint... pretty but not my fave ;)

^Mike's pretty rose garden. Almost all the colors are out (red is the only one we are waiting on).

^I love that these will stay out!

^Our first RED rose is here!

^Another red rose bud and the little tea rose things.

^The first of the lilies have come up. There are lots more stargazers coming, too.

^Not sure what these are yet, but they are new and I like them!

^Lots of budding is happening... day lilies and flox.

^I can never remember the name of these but I call them goose necks. Coming up, and they were transplanted this year.

^My lone hydrangeas is starting to bloom!

^New colors of stargazer lilies have appeared.

Engaged: Scott & Adrianna (West Michigan Wedding Photographer)

June 20, 2015

These two are getting married in October. They picked the weekend when the colors should be the most gorgeous. AND they are getting married at the Bay Pointe Inn. Can you say "bucket list"? Scott and Adrianna are finally helping me check that one off of mine! Thanks to the both of you for that. Anyway, back to our session. I met these two on a bright and sunny day at Fallasburg Park in Lowell for a quick session. They are very fun to be around and despite what she says, Adrianna is VERY photogenic. I am already giddy about their big day so let's just focus on the photos for now, shall we? Enjoy!

^Ahhh so bright and sunny!

^Such a cute pair!

^For his honey ;)

Ellie Joy: 8 Months Old (Grand Rapids Children's Photographer)

June 18, 2015

This little sweetness is one of my little loves. My friend, Angie, had this little lovey eight months ago and I love her to death. She's already friends with my little girl and I can't wait to see all the fun they will have together in the future.

Ellie seems like she is always smiling. As you will see, I was able to get a few more serious looks, but I also got a ton of big baby laughs, which are entirely adorable if I do say so myself. She's such a sweet little girl and so happy! And even after all that time, I still can't get over how much pretty blonde hair she has. Maybe it's because my baby is still very bald ;) You'll catch a few shots of my Julie since she was around too. Although she didn't cooperate with us, Ellie sure did, and here's all her adorableness!

^What a smiley little lady! And such a good sitter now!

^Biggest smiles! :D

^A few more serious Ellie moments.

^"Mom, I know I'm adorable all the time, but this outfit... so cute!" :D

^I love the belly laugh it looks like she's having in that middle shot.

^So much hair, we can give her a ponytail (or a 'spout' as her mommy calls it)

^She looks like a little doll here.

^Jules is flying with Auntie Kara.

^Ellie is happy to see her friend, but then is sad since her friend doesn't want to cooperate. No more photos, please! ;)

Brandon & Erin: A Blossom-Filled Wedding (Grand Rapids Wedding Photographer)

May 16, 2015

Wow, do I love spring weddings! But I haven't had the pleasure of getting to incorporate the spring blossoms into a wedding yet, until this year. I was super excited to work with Brandon and Erin since their engagement session last fall. They are a very fun-loving and sweet couple. So much fun to work with, and pretty good looking on top of that, haha! Their friends/bridal party were just the same. Though large groups require a lot more yelling (so they can all hear me ;), this crew was pretty easy to work with. I even got to ride in the party bus to experience all of their fun as well. Just a little crowded, but the best ones always are.

We had so much time after their sweet wedding ceremony to explore two great locations (a farm and an orchard, owned by Erin's family) for photos. And look at all the beautiful backgrounds we were able to get!!! Swoon. It was all the most perfect for the time of year and for the beautiful day it turned out to be. To top it off, we stopped at Perrin Brewing before heading to the reception. My only regret was that Kristin (my assistant for the day) and I weren't able to grab a Raspberry Blonde before getting back to work!

There was tons of fun and dancing at the reception, which I expected, knowing Brandon and Erin's personalities. What a great party! It was a long day, with pretty much more running than I've had to do in a long time, but it was well worth it all. Thank you both, and to all your family and friends who made us feeling welcomed! I wish you both a wonderful life together!

^Sometimes seeing a mom get to see her son for the first time is great too! Thanks for this, Kristin!

^I think he likes her outfit ;)

^Gift for the bride.

^Beautiful flowers and a gorgeous sanctuary!

^The weather had me worried at first, but this is just perfect!

^Our first stop was a family farm belong to Erin's family. Love the locale!

^Love! What a great sky we had for this wedding!

^On to the orchard... this is Erin's special apple tree.

^Erin and her siblings in the orchard.

^Great shot by Kristin again!

^Shelly, your work is always awesome!

^Lovely ladies!

^Can we get back on the party bus yet? ;)

^Brandon's buddies from the Marines. Thank you all!

^One last stop at a local favorite, Perrin! I was jealous Kristin and I couldn't grab a drink, too!

^On to the reception.

^Lots of cute decor.

^What a pretty cake!

^I think she was worried that he'd smash it in her face...

^Love these, awesome back lighting!

^Dollar dash ;)
