J'aime & Jennie: Anniversary Trash the Dress (Grand Rapids Wedding Photographer)

September 9, 2012

It was almost Jennie and J'aime's anniversary when they came to see me for their trash the dress session. The only difference was one day and about 1,200 miles! That's right; their family moved back up to good ol' Michigan from Florida. Though they live on the east side, they thought a gorgeous day on the west side in Grand Haven would be worth the drive. And meeting me for photos, of course, was another bonus!

It was a lovely, clear day but it was a little chilly in the morning. J'aime, who has lived in Florida his whole life, was not a fan of chilly Lake Michigan. I totally agree with him though, it was BITTER cold, much more so than I would expect in late summer, but hey, we get what we get! We put off the "swimming" till the end, wandering up and down the pier and playing in the sand. Then Jennie broke out the finger paint (washable and kid-friendly... she's definitely a mom!) and we got a little messy. Then they HAD to get into the water! J'aime, you were a champ. And Jennie, well, you always have been ;)

Had a blast with these two, can't wait to see them again this winter!
^The pier and lighthouse at Grand Haven in all their glory!

^Looking out into our freshwater sea at the end of the pier.

^I saw "Mad Love" and it was perfect for these two!

^Love it!

^Jennie wouldn't EVER be afraid of the water, even if it was another 30 degrees colder, I'd bet!

^Yeah, I'm with you, J'aime. It was COLD.

^We recreated their Save the Dates in real life!

^Haha, this one is classic!

^Dripping wet :-)

^Jennie really wanted to trash the dress! But the paints were actually washable, and came right out!

^Writing the kids' names... Jeriann & J'aime III.

^Jennie is looking devious here...

^I thought J'aime was just showing off how far out he went.... but then he tipped right in!!!
^Yup, he's done!

^Jennie got all the way in too! Love the face on the left when the wave came up.

^A very successful TTD!
