Ashley (Grand Rapids Boudoir Photographer)

July 30, 2012

Today's post is actually from last summer. Ashley's wedding was coming up and she wanted to do something special for her husband-to-be's wedding gift. Lots of ladies do this, and I think it's an amazing and fun personalized gift! A book of images of a new wife is a great surprise, and lots of ladies in the past few years have been doing boudoir sessions as both a confidence booster and sexy gift for their grooms. I HIGHLY recommend it!

Since we couldn't post them at the time, I completely forgot to do it, so it's perfect timing here during boudoir week to finally give Ashley her feature! Her session was shot in my studio for a little change of pace here in the middle of the week, and I think the studio is a great place to do boudoir sessions. With all the light, it really turned out great. Nice job, Ashley!

^Bored but beautiful.

^Another lady rocking a favorite sports jersey. Love it!

^My fave! You may have caught it on the Top 100 of 2012 post!

^She used her veil as a prop. Awesome idea for brides-to-be!

^Another favorite of mine! You may recognize it from this week's Boudoir Week ad!

Jennie (Grand Rapids Boudoir Photographer)

March 23, 2013

Jennie is one of my most frequent clients (as well as a good friend as well!). I did her maternity photos when she was pregnant with her son, as well as her wedding and tons of photos of her two adorable kids. We even did a Trash the Dress session last fall when they moved back to Michigan from Florida. Knowing how much she LOVES photos, I suggested the boudoir marathon to her. She was a little skeptical at first of course, but I knew she's love it if she tried it. She has the most infectious smile and she's so boisterous and fun, I knew this would be right up her alley. Her concern was that she isn't the cookie-cutter model size. My response?!? No one is! At least not most of the people I shoot and that makes it that much more fun! My goal as a boudoir photographer is to make all women feel gorgeous, and based on Jennie's response when she finally got to see hers... mission accomplished! She's planning on giving these photos in an album to her husband for a gift this summer. I'm pretty sure he's going to LOVE it!

P.S. Your photos were so much fun Jennie... and your "make-over" was gorgeous!

^For her hubby, his favorite college team, the Florida State Seminoles. This jersey is another gift... Shhhhhh!

Jessica (Grand Rapids Boudoir Photographer)

March 23, 2013

Since I began doing boudoir photography a few years back, I've really come to enjoy it as one of my favorite photography sessions. It's so fun working with women and helping make them feel gorgeous. I did my first marathon session three years ago and just completed my third. This year, I offered hair and make-up, thanks to Gentry Peterson, and now it's time to show off all the work from this year's marathon. To celebrate, we're doing Boudoir Week, and Jessica is our first lady to be featured!

Jessica saw my photos from her cousin's shoot last year, and she couldn't WAIT until I did another marathon so she could get in on the action. She was the one of the firsts to sign up when I announced it this year. She was so excited when she came to the hotel room for the shoot, she was definitely the most eager! She brought along some ideas to shoot, as well as some good outfits, and we had fun in the process. Check out more of her photos below. Thanks Jessica, it was fun working with you!

^If you position everything JUST right, it looks like you've got NOTHING on... even when it's just an illusion.

^A men's shirt is always a great prop!

^Loved t his outfit! Very daring!

Little Sophia: 7 months old (Grand Rapids Childrens Photographer)

March 22, 2013

Little Sophia was nothing but smiles last week when she came to visit me in the studio. In the past, she was not a big fan of having her photos done, but this time, she was having a great time. When Kylie got her in the studio, she told me Sophia hadn't taken a nap all day so I was a little worried but she was just as thrilled as can be to be showing off for the camera. She even let me hold her and play with her in between some of the shots. Such a sweetie! Thanks Sophia!

^Here cute little spring dress. I love it!

^Haha, adorable!

^What a cute little model!

^At least she looks happy this time she wants to fight  (see the 6th photo from her last session for her 'fight me' shot :)

^Me 'n' Mama.

^Such a happy girl today!

^She really liked the fuzzy rug.
