John & Megan: A Classic Wedding (Metro Detriot Wedding Photographer)

August 16, 2014

This is the first time ever that I had TWO double wedding weekends in the same year. I can't tell you that I wasn't a little nervous being pregnant during both of them, but I CAN tell you that both of them went off without a hitch, and some of my favorite images this year come from these four weddings. The last of these was John and Megan's wedding. John's father is the president of the company I work for my 'regular job' :) and John used to come in and help in the warehouse during the summer occasionally when he was younger, so we've crossed paths a few times. Megan and I met last year to chat about their big day. She, her sister and I really hit it off and we chatted for what felt like forever the day we met. I was super excited to get to spend the day with the two of them (since they are so cute, fun, and totally awesome), their family and friends, when the wedding finally came around!

I started out with Megan and the girls. They were a riot from the beginning, and I could tell that it was about the same from the photos my assistant, Jess, got of the guys before they went to the church. A very fun crowd to work with is always nice! After the wedding, we met back up with the wedding party at Sycamore Hills Golf Club, where we took off on 12 golf carts for photos. It was quite the parade through the course that we made! It was quite an experience, but we got lots of great photos before the reception, so yay for us!

The reception was amazing. I've never seen a dance floor fill up so full of people, and so quick! It was packed the whole time we were there. John and Megan have an amazing group of friends, family and college pals (go Albion!) and they made sure to make it a party. It was a great pleasure to work with them all, and I can't wait to show off this post so... carry on!
