The Bridesmaid Project: part four

Jenna Rose Photography

Yet somehow, through all the planning (and the blood, sweat, and tears that goes into said planning), when the day finally comes, the wedding itself somehow manages to remind you what all of it was for. Watching the bride and groom say their vows, the way they look into each other’s eyes, how they hold each other during their first dance, reminds everyone that no matter how much or how little you put into the event, it all culminates into your desire to express your love for your partner.

Being a bridesmaid, for those who haven’t had their turn as the bride, may sometimes be a bit of a hard reminder. Women put so much stock into finding a mate and being married that a wedding can turn even further from being seen as a momentous occasion to showcase a couple’s love for one another into something difficult to bear. No matter which viewpoint one subscribes to, being a bridesmaid comes down to one thing and one thing alone, the thing that does not necessarily compare to the romantic love that the wedding itself is meant to showcase but supplements it greatly; FRIENDSHIP. When you choose the girls to stand up with you on one of the biggest days of your life to date, you choose those who mean the most to you, the ones who have been with you through thick and thin, the ones who you hope to always be able to call friend. And even though she has to take a backseat to her friend, that is why being a bridesmaid is such an honor.

Thank you to the JW Marriott in downtown Grand Rapids for providing the beautiful setting for our photo shoot.

Once again, thanks to Shelly' s Design Florist for the fabulous bouquets.
