First wedding of the year! Also, it's the last of my wedding season (that doesn't happen much, does it?!) until the next one comes back around in May. It sure
felt like an early May day when I arrived in South Lyon and met Jill at the church. The snow was melting, the sun was shining and it was pretty darn warm out for mid January! Jill was in the process of getting ready, and she was very calm and collected. Always a good thing with brides. Roberto was calm too, when he arrived and I met him for the first time. He seems like a great person, and was super excited to be marrying Jill. He and his family (who flew up a few days prior) are from Ecuador. His parents speak hardly any English, however they were warmly welcomed and seemed to enjoy the day. Jill actually lived in the South American country for awhile too, and the couple will be returning to stay to allow Roberto to continue with his ministry there. Very exciting for the two of them! Back to the wedding day...
They chose to do a first look because of the later ceremony time and their plan to immediately start their reception right there at the church. Roberto was floored when he saw the beautiful Jill for the first time. They are such a comfortable couple together; very easy-going and genuinely happy to be around one another. They had a lot of fun throughout their time together, which is always refreshing. AND they were both great sports for the photos, inside AND out, so we all had a good time.
Though it was a shorter day for me, and just a dinner reception, Roberto and Jill with their family and friends all had a wonderful day. I wish these two the very best together on their move WAY south. I'm sure they will do great things in Ecuador and together! Congrats Roberto and Jill!
