Christmas Babies (Grand Rapids Children's Photographer)

A few of my favorite little ones came to visit me at the studio and they are here to help me wish all my fans and friends a Merry Christmas. Our "cover baby" above is little Mason, who I love to hold when I go to Mike and my friend's house. Even if he likes to spit up on me, I still love him. Next you will meet little Sophia (Mason's neice!) who is a little sweetie and I like to affectionately call "Sofa", "So-So" or "Fi-Fi", which even strikes my mood at the time. She lets me hold her sometimes too :-) Last is big brother (to Mason)/Uncle Logan (to Sophia), who never lets me have much rest when I visit. But we always have a good time! He has all sorts of imagintation and we hunt bear, deer, play house and drive in the truck when we play. Love these kids, and you'll see them all again in 3 months for their next session!

Engaged!

Mostly my blog focuses on my own work... but this time around, I wanted to make a quick announcement and show off a little something of my own. This weekend, I got engaged to my boyfriend, Mike! Finally! Haha. He took me on a walk in downtown GR, got down on one knee even with the city in the background on one of the walking bridges and asked me to marry him! So exciting. I love my ring and I wanted to show it off to all my favorite fans. We are getting married exactly 6 months from the day he proposed, so I'll probably be sharing lots of my planning with you all. Yay!

Just like in my last post, Nate and Katie are one of my 2010 wedding couples that wanted some photos for their expanding family. Little Noah mad the scene this past spring to join big sister, Madi. So just in time for Christmas, Katie (a good friend of mine who started as my sister's friend and roommate) brought the whole crew to play in the studio with me. Madi, like most kids, had a lot of rearranging to do with the furniture, and Noah wasn't thrilled about the photos, but we managed all right in the end! Check out their happy family!

Terry & Cindy: Baby on Board (Grand Rapids Maternity Photographer)

Terry and Cindy were married back in 2010 and now it's time for a baby! Cindy is ready to 'pop' any day now, as we almost had to cancel our photo session due to some false labor two days before it! However, the little one decided it could wait a few more days so we could get our photos after all. Terry and Cindy decided to let it be a surprise on whether or not little Macklyn (either way, that's the name!) is a boy or a girl so it's a surprise to all of us. Though Cindy is still 20-something days from her due date, we think we'll meet little Macklyn sooner rather than later. Yay babies!
