Zak & Shelby: Engaged! (Eastern Michigan Wedding Photographer)

October 16, 2021

I first met Shelby when we were both kids. She was quite a bit younger than me, but still, it was a long time ago. I worked for her grandparents at my high school summer job at a mini golf and go-kart place in my hometown of Harrison. Though Shelby didn't live there, she would come visit occasionally in the summer and it was always more fun to work with a cool little kid around to keep things interesting.

Fast forward a "few" years and Shelby is not only a post-graduate, she's also getting married! Zak and Shelby are getting married next October, and I had the pleasure of doing their engagement photos this past October on Zak's family's property in Pinckney. Despite the chilly temperatures, it was a great place for photos and it was also a pleasure meeting a few members of Zak's family, since I already know quite a few of Shelby's!

I'm so honored to be a part of this upcoming wedding! Congrats to the both of you and see you very soon!

Just hanging out in the woods!

Fall colors? Who needs 'em?

More fun shots after the outfit change!

These two are too cute!

LOVE!

Josh & Alicia: Engaged! (West Michigan Wedding Photographer)

October 14, 2021

There's nothing like a fall evening session where you (inadvertently!) get both sunset AND evening light. Josh and Alicia are getting married next August in mid Michigan, but they were willing to come visit me for a few photos to celebrate their engagement this year! We did some field and barn shots at the Grand Ravines, made the trek down to the Grand River as well, and got their adorable little guy, Josh Jr, in a few shots as well!

The only bad thing about shoot at Grand Ravines is that there are SO many great spots, but they are all so far apart! One of the spots they really wanted to hit was the big bridge, yet I had never shot there, so I didn't know where it was. We found it thanks to a "You Are Here" sign, but by the time we were able to get to the spot, the sun had been down for quite awhile. Thankfully, my lovely Nikon has some amazing sensor sensitivity and we were still able to get a few shots. And even a couple awesome ones with the barn and the moon.

Thanks for coming to me, Josh and Alicia! I'm VERY excited for your wedding next summer!!!

The barn really works with their outfits :D

Favorite!

Cutting out the parking lot behind them... REALLY made the shot.

Little man is IN!

No smiles, still cute!

Ack! I love it!

Back to the barn... with the moon!

JUST enough light :D
