I found myself in a familiar place for Tyler and Emily's wedding. Back in 2017, I photographed a couple who had their reception at his family's property in Mount Pleasant. What a pretty spot on a pond, surrounded by trees with lots of room to roam.
Marty & Kayla's wedding on Goebel Pond was a highlight of my year!
When Marty's younger sister, Emily, asked me to photograph HER wedding (ceremony AND reception this time!) at the same place, I was happy to do it, as returning to a gorgeous location is always something I'm thrilled to do! Not to mention, working with former bridesmaids/family members makes for a fun day of familiar faces.
Though I didn't do their engagement photos, it was great to get to know more about Emily and Tyler's story on their big day. Emily met Tyler during the pandemic and despite the challenges (or maybe even perhaps because of them!) that the past year will forever be known for, they fell in love and brought their families together during the first weekend in October to celebrate.
Back to Goebel Pond... different season, still beautiful! The whole day went so perfectly as well. It was great seeing Tyler's face when Emily started down the aisle toward him. There is nothing quite like seeing the love in a couple's eyes! We made the most of the minimal fall color we had to work with but still ended up with some awesome shots in the woods and surrounding area. These two were so easy going and even up for a little fence climbing in order to get some of the perfect shots!
Once the party got started, everyone had a blast. The rain held off all day but finally got going after the reception started. Luckily, a little wet weather didn't put a damper on anyone's fun. Tons of dancing and celebrating took place and I'm so glad to have gotten to be a part of it, as well as see some familiar faces from years past. Congrats to you both, Tyler and Emily, and thank you so much for having me as part of your wedding day!
