Jared & Justine: Engaged (Grand Rapids Wedding Photography)

April 23, 2014

Though they no longer live in town, these two GVSU grads love coming back to visit the city they fell in love with. Since they still have friends in the area, any good reason to come out is reason enough for Jared and Justine. Seems like a fitting place for engagement photos. Though I'm well-versed in the GR engagement session, it's always a pleasure. We followed about a two block radius and just went with it.

Jared and Justine, who live on the other side of the state (so sad you guys had to leave, but I guess Ann Arbor is a pretty cool place too!), are getting married over here in West Michigan in just a few months. So excited to spend the day with them in one of the beautiful Kent County parks, but for now... check them out in the city scene!

^Your standard Blue Bridge shot is required ;)

^Love their hands, can't figure out why I like that shot so much!

^I love 'sneaking' into the JW for a few shots.

^Fave! So happy!

^So nice and casual, good work, you two!

^This is where I got engaged, but EVERYONE looks good here ;)

^We are DONE! High five!

Wedding Season!

April 24, 2014

It's just about time to start up another fabulous wedding season. Right now, this one is a little lighter, but I'm glad for it. Two to three weddings per month should be just about perfect for now. To kick off this season, which starts next weekend (May 3, Will and Michelle, yay!) let's show off a second shooting job I did back in 2012 that I JUST found and remembered!

I worked on this wedding with the amazing Abby of Abby Fox Photography, back in August of 2012. The couple held the wedding at the bride's parent's farmhouse. It was absolutely gorgeous and meticulously decorated with lots of rustic touches. A beautiful day too! The wedding party was gorgeous, and though, being second shooter, I didn't get all the shots I normally would for a wedding, I was very glad I got to help out with this one. This seemed like a great post to kick off this year's wedding season... less than two weeks from our very first sneak peek!

^Beautiful old farmhouse. Such a big place!

^This cat was very sweet. I sure like kitties ;)

^Katie was such a beautiful bride!

^Love this shot of the girls.

^Abby is the photo on the bottom in front. This is apparently the rest of the paparazzi!

^It was also a little warm that day ;)

^Smile, Matt (I think that's his name...?)

^Awesome sunset shots... what a perfect day!

Isaiah: One Year (Grand Rapids Children's Photographer)

April 5, 2014

Some kids are just adorable. They can't help it. It's not up to them. Most kids are in this category, but today I'm showing off one in particular... Isaiah! This adorable little man just turned "1" a few weeks ago and came to visit me to commemorate the big milestone. He's visited me one other time for his newborn photos but he was much happier to see me this time around.

Though Isaiah loves his mommy and felt much safer having her give him lots of hugs and kisses, he did decide to share some adorable smiles and even stood up for us. He wasn't a fan of smashing his cake, but even though he didn't get dirty in the process, he still looked super cute!

Thanks for coming to visit again, Sam and Marcus, it was good to see you as well as your cute little guy!

^Look at that classy little 'hawk!

^Silly boy!

^Love these two :)

^If you look close, he's got Mommy's hair!

^AWWWW!

^He really liked his balloons!

^Nope, not going to smash his cake Grandma made him!
