May 4, 2013
You never know what you are going to get for weather in May. Just this past weekend, it was SNOWING. But May 4 was an absolutely BEAUTIFUL day, just perfect to celebrate the marriage of Jeff and Katie! They originally were going to be married on a different weekend, back in October. I am SO glad they waited because that weekend was cold and wet, while the REAL date was simply gorgeous. I was also super excited to work with Shelly of Shelly's Designs Florist again. She actually gave Katie my name. Her work is beautiful and she definitely did not disappoint with the beautiful bouquets.
Katie told me way back when that she wasn't a big fan of having her photos taken. She and Jeff still braved
the engagement session, but on the wedding day, Katie was so radiant and obviously enjoying herself, you'd think she was a natural. Hey, maybe she is! What a beautiful bride! We had fun before the wedding, and adding all the kids (neices, nephews, friends, etc), it was quite a day!
After the wedding, we headed to downtown Grand Rapids for a few shots. We were short on time, but we made use of the sunny blue skies and got some photos on the blue bridge. Then it was off to the reception (where thankfully we got to do some more couple photos, since the night was so perfect; also, dinner was AMAZING). Katie and Jeff were having so much fun together. I love watching couples in love! I definitely have to say that their wedding was worth the wait... and a great way to kick off my 2013 wedding season! It was a pleasure to get to spend their wedding day with such a great couple!
