Highland Cows at Sunset (West Michigan Portrait Photographer)

September 26, 2024

My sister and brother-in-law aren't big on photos, but when I can convince them to do something, it's usually for something fun and exciting. My sister has always been an animal lover. Growing up, she had her share of unique pets, and even added a few snails to the mix last year!

Recently however, she and my brother-in-law lost their beloved kitty, Kathy, who had been by my sister's side for over 16 years. Kathy was more than a pet; she helped her through some of the toughest moments in life. Losing her best friend was heartbreaking, but we wanted to bring some joy to my sister's birthday, even though it wasn't an easy one.

So, we headed to Thunder Acres Highlands, where the cutest (and still surprisingly big!) minature highland cows roam. Some are friendly enough for photos, and we made sure to visit the cows—like sweet Talula—and even got a few shots with little baby Maverick.

It was a fun day, and a small step forward in healing after Miss Kath's passing. Love you, my peach!
