Brett & Remi: An Intimate Family Wedding (Mid Michigan Wedding Photographer)

 September 12, 2020

On September 12, I had the honor of being part of a sweet little backyard-type wedding for Brett and Remi. The two of them had planned a very small, family event from the start, but ended up having to change the location due to, well... 2020. Regardless of the venue change, it was a beautiful, intimate event with just a few close family members in attendance. Just what this sweet couple was looking for.

Remi's family has some property that they chose to use for the ceremony and lunch reception. We started off and her childhood home for a few photos of Remi's details and of her getting ready. When wedding time finally rolled around, the rain held off, thankfully, despite a few drops right before it was time to start. In front of their families and three bee hives, Brett and Remi made it official! Afterwards, we took photos in the fields and flowers (so much goldenrod!), and sat down for a perfect little lunch.

Short and sweet. The flower girls had fun dancing in the grass, the bees got a little angry but thankfully everyone remained sting-free, and everyone got some of Grandma's pie in their bellies. A more perfect little wedding event, I've yet to see!

Venue - family property, Harrison
Dress - Second Dance Bridal, Grand Rapids
Florals - Country Flowers and More, Harrison
Catering - Karen Stocking, Harrison
Pies - Grandma Kay (yummmm!)

^There's nothing like a few pretty little details.

^Thanks, Mom!

^Hooray!

^That smile!

^This was before the bees got mad!

^Goldenrod season really is the best.

^Remi called her bouquet "field casual". Yup, I agree!

^So happy together :D

^This has to be one of my favorites.

^Brett helped me set the pies up for this pretty photo.
^Grandma taking charge of cutting up her treats.

^Remi's dad taking charge of the bees ;)
