Mike & Autumn: A Colorful Wedding (Grand Rapids Wedding Photographer)

June 4, 2016

Time to FINALLY blog the very first wedding of my regular wedding season this year. WAYYY back in June, Mike and Autumn were married at the always beautiful Fredrick Meijer Gardens. This venue is amazing because even if the weather isn't 100% cooperative (it wasn't!), there are still so many awesome locations to photograph!

Though we were able to get Mike and Autumn outside for quite a few photos beforehand, including an adorable first look, we were able to retire to the greenhouses for most of the other shots when the rain started sprinkling in the area. The colors are so amazing, especially on cloudy days like this so I'm not mad about it.

It was a bit sad that the wedding couldn't take place at the beautiful waterfall ceremony location, but Mike, Autumn and I were able to get out there for a few shots before the reception started, so again, not mad about it ;) It was a pleasure to work with Mike's family again, as I first met this crew back in October last year when he's sister, Adrianna, married Scott at the Bay Pointe Inn. It was great to see this fun group of people again!

Morgan: Turning One (Grand Rapids Children's Photographer)

June 28, 2016

Dan and Lisa got married just about four years ago, and as a celebration of that AND the first birthday of their little cutie, Morgan, here are the photos from her one year session! Morgan was perfect for a baby her age. She isn't quite walking yet, so she didn't feel the need to escape the camera. She was pretty okay with smiling at my keys when Mom and Dad were in the shot with her. And when they weren't, she was all about the big smiles for their silly antics to get a giggle out of her.

It's so fun seeing couple's that you've worked with in the past grow and become parents. I wish this new family all the best and can't wait to see what's next for this little sweetheart! Happy birthday, Morgan!

^Serious little lady ;)

^Just need some silliness from Mom or Dad to get those smiles.

^Love this one!

^Pretty as a little flower.

^Well hello there, Little Miss!

^Adorable.

^Take a break to explore the surroundings.

^A fun family.

Emily Nikol: Brand New (Grand Rapids Newborn Photographer)

June 15, 2016

This little miss has been hoped and wish and prayed for. For a very long time. And she's finally here in the world with us. Sometimes the road to parenthood has a lot of bumps along the way, but this mom and dad kept their faith and knew that someday, God would bless them with their own little bundle of joy.

Richie and Kelly had their maternity photos with me a few months ago and it was fun exploring some spots in Portage with them. She came just a tiny bit early and I was so excited to finally meet little Emily. We were a little worried there for a second about fitting her session in as I had quite a bit of travelling going on at the beginning of the month but we made it work.

Emily is a sweetie. Though she didn't really like where I wanted her feet and arms too much, she was a pretty good little subject. She's a fan of lambs and her mom and dad, so far. I'm sure much more to come in the future. Introducing... Emily!

^I told her to poke our her hands. We agreed on this situation.

^Half smile ;)

^Little lamb.

^Awww, precious :)

^Lookin' good, Mama!

^So happy to be a family of three!
