Ahhh, the first wedding of the season. It's something I look forward every year. This year, my first wedding was down in Florida. I spent the week visiting one of my best friends (and the bride's sister), and enjoying the warmth and sunshine. What a gorgeous week. And of course, the worst weather of the whole time I was down there had to be the day of the wedding. Dennis and Jacquie had chosen the beautiful
Jacksonville Golf and Country Club, specifically for the outdoor ceremony site and the gorgeous landscape. What a shame it would be if they couldn't do their wedding with a backdrop of beautiful flowers, a flowing waterfall, and the Florida sun.
It rained and stormed throughout the hair and make-up session. It was raining when we arrived at the country club. Jacquie was holding up all right, but I could tell she was worried about it. But somehow, someway (thanks to a few prayers from quite a few people, I suspect!) the sun showed its face right in time for the guys' portraits. And while it did storm again, we had time to do the whole beautiful ceremony outside, and even get some family photos in before the thunder, lightning and rain sent us all back inside.
Jacquie and Dennis has an amazing wedding party, and the reception was so much fun. Being that I'm a friend of the family as well as photographer, I was able to enjoy the party a bit as well (thank you Jeffrey Wood of
D'Land Entertainment), while making sure to get all of the fun on film at the same time. We even did a sparkler send off at the end of the night! What an amazing wedding day!
Dennis and Jacquie are so perfect together. Their dynamic as a couple is so fun to watch. They compliment each other's personalities so well. And they are just crazy about one another, which you can see by the way they look at each other. It was a pleasure to get to photograph such a great couple on such a great day at such a great place! Thank you both so much and I wish the two of you so much happiness together... oh and see you in May for your Michigan reception!
